Increased Space
The Whistler Conference Centre underwent a
$12 million modernization project in 2003. With increased space, new environmental standards, and more features, the building has received rave reviews.
The Sea to Sky Ballroom capacity is now 2000 people. A glass enclosed conservatory named the Mountain View provides natural light and spectacular views of the mountains with enough space to serve 120 people banquet style.
In addition to the 16,500 square foot ballroom that is divisible by three, there is increased capacity for meeting room breakout space to more than 1000 people in 14 breakout rooms.

Redesigned
The Grand Foyer sets the stage showcasing the facility's 40 foot Rumford fireplace. It's 5,400 square feet of pre-function space is perfect for receptions and dinners.
A new roof with design elements indigenous to Whistler's mountain resort aesthetics is another added feature of the building. Other features include enhanced, state-of-the-art telecommunications capabilities, a glass enclosed conservatory, and skylights. Other improvements include better entrance and exit areas, increased washroom and cloakroom facilities. The exterior of the building has been re-landscaped.
Environmental
Sustainable building materials were used in the 2003 renovation of the Whistler Conference Centre such as natural or recycled fibre carpets, certified wood products and high efficiency lighting systems. Special deconstruction techniques and the recycling of materials helped to minimize waste.

Overall, the total rentable meeting space in the building is now 40,000 square feet.
